The Propagator - Autumn 2015 issue 45
Times are a Changing
Why did Lonely Planet rate Newcastle, a former steel city, one of the top ten cities in the world in 2011? Or are you like many who have not pulled off the highway to explore this lovely city?
Australia's second oldest city has surf beaches, a subtropical climate, diverse dining, nightlife and arts. It is less than an hour's drive to Hunter Valley wineries, sailing on Lake Macquarie, whale watching at port Stephens and sand boarding at Stockton Beach.
Of course the centre of Newcastle has some interesting shopping possibilities. Then there are the galleries, museums and historic sites to visit. For plant people, there are many nurseries, great nature walks and many gardens to visit.
Read more about Newcastle and much more in our newsletter, The Propagator, Autumn 2015 edition.
